CALLING ALL MUMMYS!
We understand that for many women there can be a number of barriers to gaining employment such as language, confidence and lack of formal qualifications. These can make taking the first step towards employment difficult. If you feel any of the above applies to you, Mummy’s Cooking can help YOU.
Mummy’s Cooking is a social enterprise that helps women from vulnerable backgrounds and isolated communities gain skills and employment through the medium of cooking. With the help of professional chefs, Mummy’s Cooking provides fully subsidised training to obtain a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate which will allow you to work in a commercial kitchen, as well as providing cooking training if you require it. Once you feel confident and are equipped with the necessary skills, we provide you with regular paid jobs to work at pop up restaurants, provide private catering and lunch services.
You don’t need to be a mum to take up this opportunity and you don’t even need to be an amazing cook as you can start off by helping with food preparation. However, under the expert tutelage of a professional chef, we would expect those that can’t cook to learn how to make several dishes. For those that have already honed their cooking skills through years of making authentic ethnic food for their families and loved ones, Mummy’s Cooking offers the chance to bring these dishes to a wider audience and over time, become a Head Chef who can oversee and train other Mummys.
